Talks/Commentaries

Inside my bones

inside my bones a lion roared

a mouse crept

a whale yawned

and set fish swimming

a seal scratched and

rivers flowed inside my bones

a beetle hatched

told me it was time to move

inside my bones a black man

walked across the dry earth

found a spring

stood in footprints ages old

a snake coiled

spoke to me of wise things

showed me the egg of the world

inside my bones

I heard the sound of many wings

doves flying into the sun

a tree grew very tall

and sheltered me

inside my bones there are shells

breathing my hours

a forest moans

shrinking back from the axe

inside my bones a cold wind blew

and swept me out to sea
